Introduction:
How many of you would say, with out a doubt I am saved?
Have you ever asked yourself, what does God want from me?
1 Timothy 4:12
“Be an Example”
1. (V12) Let no one
despise
your youth, but be an
example
to the believers in word, in
conduct
, in
love
, in
spirit
, in
faith
, in
purity
a) The word
youth
in the ancient Greek was “Used of grown-up military age, extending to the 40th year”
It seems that Timothy was about 30 years old at this time
The responsibility is great and overwhelming for Timothy
b) Be an example in
Titus 2:7
“in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility,”
Speech (The things we speak)
In conduct (How we live)
In love (Loving towards others)
In faith (Not lacking faith)
In Purity (clean living)
2. (V16) Take
heed
to yourself and to doctrine
a) Take head / Be carful
why? Save yourself and others who hear you
